Seaford shipyard is in the background. The John W. Bell, left, was built in 1848 and sunk at Baltimore in 1935. Bethel built the Jennie D. Bell on the right, which was captained by Clarence Heath of Seaford. The Jennie D. Bell was the last sailing vessel on the Chesapeake employed in freight service. She was built in 1898 and put on the mud in the Wicomico River in 1961. Captain Heath died the following year. [Photo courtesy of: J.
