Merle Elizabeth Lank
BS-Univ. of DE. (1952)--graduated in 3 1/2 years. Merle started teaching as a student teacher in Jan. 1952 in Harry Price's first grade class. In January 1952 she began teaching fulltime in Seaford for a period of 2 1/2 years. These were the days of the "baby boomers" and Seaford was swamped with children and had to add extra grades--at one time she had as many as 36 children. Merle contributed much information to this Lank family report that she has collected over the years.
Merle married "Richie" Charles Richard Williams, son of Roger Meredith Williams and Elizabeth Spinner, on 18 Jun 1955 in Bloomsburg, PA. ("Richie" Charles Richard Williams was born on 14 Sep 1928.) |
