Rev. Bailey, who married Shippy and Altje, recorded their names as "sheepy" and "Alicia." During her lifetime, Altje signed legal documents as "Lettey," was called "Leticia," her obituary was for "Letitia," and her grandfather, Dowe Ditmars, called her Letty.
Altje married Shippy Spurr, son of Michael Spurr and Jane Shippee, on 14 Nov 1786 in Clements (now Nictaux South), NS, at the home of Capt. Ditmars by Rev. Jacob Bailey.
