Emigrated with parents to Nova Scotia in 1760. Shippy and Altje lived in Clements Township from the time they were married until at least 1820. At Waldeck in Clements Township all their children were born.
Shippy married Altje van Voorhies, daughter of Cornelis Cornelisen van Voorhies and Marretje Ditmars, on 14 Nov 1786 in Clements (now Nictaux South), NS, at the home of Capt. Ditmars by Rev. Jacob Bailey. (Altje van Voorhies was born on 13 Dec 1770 in Long Island, NY and died on 20 Apr 1855 in Clements (now Nictaux South), NS.)
