These were the days of the "baby boomers" and Seaford was swamped with children and had to add extra grades--at one time she had as many as 36 children. Merle contributed much information to this Lank family report that she has collected over the years.

General Notes: Richie graduated from PS DuPont High School in 1946 and attended Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He served his country in the Army as a medic during the Korean War. Following his discharge, he worked for Wilmington Wrecking Co. and The Independence School until his retirement. A quiet, unassuming and gentle man, he died peacefully at Chester Co. Hospital on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at the age of 80. In addition to his wife of 33 years, Merle Lank Williams, he is survived by 6 children: Roger, Bruce, Karen, Ellen, Debra, Paige and 14 grandchildren. A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 30, at 4 pm at the KUZO AND GRIECO FUNERAL HOME, 250 W. State Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
